Partial Shingle Reroof in Torrington, CT

Partial Shingle Reroof in Torrington, CT

One slope of a roof often wears out well before the others. The south or west face takes the most sun, a section under trees stays damp, or one plane catches the prevailing wind. A partial reroof strips and reshingles that one slope while leaving the healthy ones alone.

Torrington, CT Shingle Roof Repair connects homeowners in Torrington, CT with asphalt shingle roofing crews for partial reroofs. The work runs like a full job, just smaller:

• Tear-off to the deck on the affected slope
• Sheathing repair where needed
• New underlayment, drip edge and starter strip
• New shingles tied into the adjacent slopes at the ridge and hips
• New ridge caps over the joined area

The trickiest part is the tie-in. The crew has to weave or lap the new shingles into existing ones without breaking the seal on the old courses. Color matching matters too, and you should expect some difference between new and weathered shingles at first.

A partial reroof makes sense when the rest of the roof has meaningful life left. If every slope is near the end, a crew will tell you.
